It is very exciting seeing the all conquering duo of Olamide and his protege, Lil Kesh, working together so soon after the public fall out of fans and social media civil war that arose when Kesh completed his contract with Olamide and left to float his own label, Y.A.G.I.
‘Problem Child’ which is the 14th track of the ‘Shoki’ crooner offers a very steamy club scene, with censored erotic dancers in their birthday suits, wads of dollar bills being thrown around and unlimited amounts of alcohol to match – aren’t these what’s expected of our high-flying VIP entertainersin this archive
The flick offers clean visuals and exciting choreography; heck, it even had a combination of humour with comedian Ushbabe acting the role of a ‘Problem Child‘ who was drunk and throwing wads of cash at willing damsels.
However, we just don’tt feel the overall excessive western influence on this joint. We are not hating, but we just love the vibe and feel of the ‘Ibile’ music which won the duo of Olamide and Lil Kesh several awards, accolades, acclaim, fame and fortune.
Even though it is great to be creative and change is the only constant thing, on ‘Problem Child’, we feel a massive disconnect with the norm and an imitation which distances totally from the celebration of our own unique style of music which is one of our biggest exports as a country right now.
Perhaps, we might be wrong as ‘Problem Child’ is already the topic of conflicting discourse on the social scene right now.
Why don’t you stream and download ‘Problem Child’ and let us know what you think of Olamide and Kesh’s departure from the streets, towards an embrace of the west. Just join the conversation by leaving your thoughts and opinion in the comment section below.
