Remember how Sjava became the pride of the Nation after scooping the BET Award for Best New International Act of the past campaign? Well, the serial hitmaker now plots to take it a step further.
This is as the Ambitiouz Entertainment star plans to take the actual trophy, which he received last week, to the streets in appreciation of the fans who gave him all the support and love.
At the time, Sjava had beat off stiff competition from the likes of Nigerian singer and “Maradona” hitmaker, Niniola, who was also a firm favourite, Mc Soffia from Brazil, Nailah Blackman from Trinidad and Tobago, Not3s from the United Kingdom.
Others were Prince Waly from France, Sik-K from South Korea, Takeamic from France, Iamddb from the United Kingdom and Kwesi Arthur from Ghana.Sjava/Instagram
This time, the “Isina Muva” mastermind wants his followers to share in the excitement as he wants to take the gong to them to feel and take pictures.
In a conversation with TshisaLIVE, Sjava says he was taking the award to those who he says are truly deserving of the gesture.
“They are the ones who voted. Everywhere I go I will take it with me (for fans),” he said.
Sjava would go on further to state his surprise at clinching the top prize as well as plans to further inspire the upcoming generation.
“Winning the BET is something I never thought could happen for me. Because if you look back, the people who made it internationally had or have agents, you know some white guy who would be their plug. We have what it takes but people overseas don’t know…until we make them know. Now I am trying to get people (the young kids) to realise that they don’t have to change themselves to get that recognition.”
