The uproar generated from the viral video of Kwaito star, Mampintsha’s assault on his girlfriend and live-in lover, Babes Wodumo is far from over even despite the former’s PR spin at redeeming his already battered image.
The duo of Mandla Maphumulo and Bongekile Simelane immediately became trending topics following a live recording of the assault on the latter’s Instagram Live account.
In fact, such was the outrage generated across social media platforms that several parties called for the arrest of Mampintsha as well as his prosecution.
He has since been arrested and appeared at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court in Durban on the same day, where he was eventually released on a R20,000 bail. He is due reappear in May.
However, the former Big Nuz member was a guest on Ukhozi FM recently to defend himself and there, he made counter allegations against Babes Wodumo bothering on alcohol abuse and aggression.
“I just want to apologise to the fans, to the listeners and everyone. However, I want to make it clear that I am the victim here. Babes attacked me in bed in the house,” Mampintsha said.
However, rather than find redemption, Mampintsha as well Ukhozi FM came under serious social media attack from Tweeps who took them to the cleaners for the cheap attempt.
While it has been confirmed by Police authorities that Mampintsha has himself opened a case of assault against Babes Wodumo, the Gqom Queen has simply chosen to walk away from the toxic relationship.
“I could have been next!!This could have been you, your sister, your daughter, your niece…..We are not victims but survivors❤️,” Babes captioned the post alongside a picture of the duo and with the hashtag #Imwalkingaway.” she Tweeted.
