Award-winning singer, Jabulani Hadebe, arrived home yesterday amidst screams, shouts and tears of joy from family and friends. The “Seasons” hitmaker received a hero’s welcome when he touched down at the OR Tambo International Airport from the United States on Wednesday.
Well wishers came out in droves to welcome the BET winner following his win at the BET Awards 2018 where he bagged the BET Viewers’ Choice ‘Best New International Act’ award in Los Angeles over the weekend.
On his arrival at the OR Tambo International Airport, Sjava addressed the media with Ambitiouz Entertainment, BET Africa management, and MC’d by his label mates, Londie London and Cici; where he thanked his fans, record label, and family for support.
Sjava was joined by vice president for the BET channel, youth and music at Viacom International Media Networks, Monde Twala as well as a representative from the Erkhuruleni Metro.
He talked about his experience at the awards, and repeatedly compared the treatment he received at the Metro FM Awards for his traditional outfit against the support he got at the BET Awards.
The SA act also acknowledged that he could not interact with a lot of international stars at the award; but claimed they listen to his music.
To cart home the win, Sjava had to beat major contenders- Nigeria’s Niniola and Ghana’s Kwesi Arthur.
Again, congratulations are in order for Sjava and you can also join the conversation with your thoughts and wishes in the comments section below.
