DJ Boeli Alpheus Mailula and DJ Kwenisto, two of SABC’s disc jockeys who announced Master KG’s “Skeleton Move” as Summer Song of the Year 2018 ahead of the official announcement, have been suspended from their jobs.
The announcement had seen Master KG, who is pushing the bolobedu sound across the world, walk away with a R100,00 cash prize as well as a brand new Kia sedan.
Following the complaint from the public, the disc jockeys have seen been relieved of their positions and an internal investigation launched.
“You @djboeli been getting away with nonsense for a long time le station sago ,we’re not gonna keep quiet about what happened last night ,fix it or we’ll march to sabc pololwane to demand your removal .we’re the people of #kingMonada” tweeted an angry fan going y the handle @Miss_Maletsiri.
“Malwedhe,” which inspired the #IdibalaChallenge, was one song that shook South Africa’s music foundation and travelled through Africa to to the Far East, earning King Monada a United Kingdom invitation in the process.
