Every celebrity’s dream is to meet someone with a bigger fame whose name they respect. As expected, that’s something their fans would support and celebrate them for. Sadly, not all fans would.
Legendary American designer, Tommy Hilfiger has been the victim of a skin-offensive rumor which has trailed him so many years.
Although the fashion icon has over time tried to quench them, it keeps coming up each time. He was accused back in ’96 of appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show and saying he wouldn’t have made his clothes so nice if he knew it would be worn by people of colour.
The rumor was reported to have been published by fashion magazine, Fashionista. The magazine has called the report untrue, saying the fashion icon had never even been on the show when they started.
The designer later appeared on Oprah‘s show in 2007 to further say the rumors weren’t true. Years later, he also denied the claims in 2012 when he featured in Fern Mallis’ 92Y Fashion Icons series, and in 2016 on The Wendy Williams Show.
The celeb had attended the presentation of the Fall 2019 “Tommy x Lewis” collection, a collaboration between the fashion house and Lewis Hamilton.
Boss Zonke‘s excitement turned soar when fans flooded his comments section with racist claims causing the designer to trend on SA Twitter.
The rapper was also dragged for saying he had wanted to meet the icon since he was a young boy. They made reference to the years old rumor, questioning why the rapper would want to appear in a photo with the fashion icon.
However, some fans were more sympathetic towards the “I Can’t Believe It (Macoins)“ mastermind and took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
