There were winners and there were winners at African Musik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) (awards) held recently in Dallas, Texas, United States of America.
As it turned out Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, the “Strings and Bling” mastermind, known professionally as Nasty C, who is currently on his Ivyson Tour, made the list of winners. Nasty C had been nominated in 5 categories for the award, the highest from South Africa, right above Cassper Nyovest (4 nominations).
While Nasty C may not have won in all the categories in which he was nominated, he certainly is glad to have won the Best Male (Southern Africa) at the AFRIMMA. He dedicated his win to family and his fans. His Ivyson Tour, he added, had brought him the “good energy.”
Given his excellent musical form, this triumph should come as no surprise to the rapper and his teeming fans. Since making it into the music scene years back, Junior has proved again and again that is talented rapper and not a 0ne-song or one-album wonder.
The result is there for all to see. He has been described by other artistes as the best rapper in Africa. He traverses the globe and is to be found in the company of who is who in music. Just recently, American rapper 6lack invited him on stage and both rocked the song “Jungle” to the delight of their fans.
Here’s saying “congratulations” to Juniors and wishing him more years of glory ahead.
