Cassper Nyovest is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the South African Hip-Hop scene. It’s safe to say that a lot of people in SA listen to the genre because his music introduced them. Well, that’s the testimony by a lot of his fans who weren’t particularly Hip-Hop fans from the onset.
Sadly, the rapper has been absent from the game for a while now. The noticeable switch from the genre to Amapiano has been hard to miss.
The Doc Shebeleza rapper has now come forward to explain his reason for the switch. Fortunately, he has also revealed that he isn’t retired from the rap genre, he’s going to make a huge come back some day. At least not now. He’s got a new love.
Taking to Twitter to reply a fellow celeb (who seems to be Nigerian) who questioned his new sound, Amapiano, asking what it was all about.
The rapper replied “It’s the biggest sound in South Africa right now. That’s what the people want to hear!!! It killed everything!!!! I love it!!! Just purely authentic South African music!!! I’ll put you on so we introduce it to Naija…”
The hitmaker also calmed fans’ fears that he had left the Hip-Hop scene for good. He revealed that he has become weary of the “politics” tied to the rap game.
According to him, he needed a break from all of that, hence the fitting switch to new genre. He also revealed he “will be back one day. With a Bang!”
Mufasa was recently praised on the biggest Hip-Hop radio show in America, The Breakfast Club for his contributions to genre, his performances and business brains.
