Love is a game we all play, one way or the other. Sometimes we win; sometimes we don’t win. A win saturates the soul with joy and the hope of bliss eternal. A loss, on the other hand, rents asunder the spirit and happiness of the jilted. Some recover. So do not.
Loving, and losing that loved one to someone else, is a global reality. One of Mzansi’s new singing maestros Mlindo the Vocalist suffered the pain, years back, of losing his girlfriend to someone else – a much richer man. It was a painful period for the artiste, as he confirmed: “It was a very painful period. I was crying all the time.”
He chronicled his loss in the song “AmaBlesser.” At the time of its release, the song earned rave reviews and generous airplay. Many were unaware, however, that it was a song from a phase in the singer’s life.
The Vocalist said to TshisaLIVE: “I wrote the song like three years ago when a girl left me for a blesser…..it was painful, I was crying all the time. I didn’t even want to leave the house. I just wrote music because it was the only way I could heal, I don’t want anyone to go through that.”
In other words, he would never snatch someone else’s girlfriend. Quite noble of The Vocalist, one should say. With the success of his album titled “Emakhaya,” he just might be on his way to greater financial success as an artiste. The girls might stay then. Who knows?
