Remember the time Beyoncé and Jay-Z hit the stage at the Global Citizen Festival in honour of Nelson Mandela? Remember how it felt when they performed Apesh*t in front of their Mzansi fans?
The energy, the power, and the awe. Well, we could have some of that back. That’s if plans go well, the duo might just hit the SA stage a second time.
Well, we can’t hold our joy. In a video posted on social media, the SA celeb announced that he was considering booking the Bonnie & Clyde hitmakers for a set at his homecoming.
He captioned the video “Mampintsha’s Home coming details dropping soon #westinkrecords”
It’s no secret that it almost costs an arm and a leg to book the famous music couple (who are reportedly worth over a billion dollars).
ZAlebs reports that a few years ago, then minister of sports, Fikile Mbalula, announced plans to book Bey for their sports Awards. That did not see the light of day as Mzansi opined that bringing the singer would shift the focus of the event.
Then, reports also revealed that the Irreplaceable singer charged over R17m per hour to perform. Long story short, local talents were booked instead.
The announcement thrilled fans who commented their excitement and also suggested alternative performers for the show. Names like Cardi B, J. Cole and Kendrink Lamar were offered up. If all goes well, one of those might come through.
Well, Babes Wodumo‘s Twitter account has suggested that she and the hitmaker are not an item anymore. Who knows? it might just be the hacker going at it again or better still another of Mampintsha’s many publicity stunts.
