“Eloy” crooner K.O. certainly has his eyes on the future, a splendid life beyond the call of music, and he is determined other rappers should toe the same path and have a life and a legacy outside of music.
In a recent interview with TshisaLIVE, the Cashtime Life top shot observed that the music scene has changed and rappers need to align with that change accordingly. He bared his mind on the need for artistes to look beyond the glimmer of music make stakes in the world of entrepreneurship.
“Hip -hop has now branched out. It’s not about just having the big song, or the big album, anymore. It is now about entrepreneurship and doing things outside of music. You have to have a passion for things outside of your craft,” he said.Source: K.O/Twitter
K.O., who DJ Maphorisa and DJ Raybel featured on “iQhude,” and who recently hinted at having taken too many losses for a man, has a model for music and entrepreneurial acumen in the American rappers and businessmen Diddy and Jay-Z.
“We need to tap into that dynamic. We need to make a name for ourselves like Diddy and Jay. We need to be known for something more. We can’t just live off a spike (of popularity), we need to maintain. That is where your talent is really tested.”
As K.O. himself said, he had seen several rappers fall from the limelight as the game is not all about music anymore. Well, are fellow rappers listening?
