Luther ‘Crazy Lu’ Cohen, famous for being a former Jozi and YoTV member has passed away after a severe asthma attack.
Indeed, life is too short, the people we see and admire today could disappear tomorrow. The music industry and social media has been in mourning all of Friday night till this moment. The industry just lost a resounding voice who made his mark in the SA music industry.
According to a report by TshisaLIVE, former SA Hip-Hop star, Luther Cohen famously called Crazy Lu died in the early hours of Friday morning in Cambodia after an asthma attack. The site reports that his death was confirmed by members of his family.
His brother, Marvin Cohen, a former producer on SABC 1 entertainment show Live Amp, revealed they were informed that he passed at about 3am on Friday morning.
“All we know is that he died at 3am this morning [Friday] from an apparent asthma attack. He’s been an asthmatic his whole life. A year ago he fell into a coma from a bad attack”
He also revealed the family would be travelling to Cambodia where Crazy Lu had reportedly been living for the past three years on Sunday.
Since the news of his death broke, friends of the star and people who know him have shared their condolences on social media.
Former Jozi member, Da L.E.S has also taken to social media to share his condolences with the Cohen family. He wrote,
“Rest in peace brother. Very big condolence goes out to the COHEN family. Terribly sorry we couldn’t connect when you were alive. Life’s short”.
