Finally, Babes Wodumo Is Walking Away…

Domestic violence survivor, has finally broken her silence after the video which showed her boyfriend, , assaulting her went viral. She is simply walking away.

The duo of Mandla Maphumulo and Bongekile Simelane immediately became trending topics following a live recording of the assault on the latter’s Instagram Live account.

In fact, such was the outrage generated across social media platforms that several parties called for the arrest of as well as his prosecution.

He has since been arrested and appeared at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court in Durban on the same day, where he was eventually released on a R20,000 bail. He is due reappear in May.

However, several support groups also called on herself to walk away from the abusive relationship since it wasn’t the first time there has been rumours of abuse in that toxic relationship.

In the past year, Babes Wodumo revealed their relationship had ended over abuse claims during an interview on Metro FM’s The Drive with Mo Flava and Masechaba.

At the time, both Mo Flava and Masechaba came under fire for the interview tactics used, while Babes and reconciled.

This time, the Gqom Queen took to social media platform, Twitter, to reference her friend, Karaba Mokoena, who was murdered by her boyfriend in 2017.

“I could have been next!!This could have been you,your sister,your daughter,your niece…..We are not victims but survivors❤️,” Babes captioned the post alongside a picture of the duo and with the hashtag #Imwalkingaway.

In other news, Mampintsha has also opened a case of assault against Babes Wodumo with accusations she attacked him first as the aggressor before he retaliated.

It is left to be seen how the scenario plays out but we can only wish Babes Wodumo the very best moving forward.
