Self-styled king of South African Hip Hop, Cassper Nyovest was on the receiving end of some Twitter bashing during the week. Reason being that he supported a post about South Africans being poor at supporting each other.
A Twitter user by the name Taylor with the handle @ZubayrTaylor25 had taken to the social media channel with a Tweet which read: “South Africans are poor at supporting each other.”
The New Doc Shebeleza who is trying to garner support to make history with the #FillUpFNBStadium Concert had replied with the post. He Tweeted:
“As much as this hurts to read. This is very very true. Very true!!!”
However, fans would have none of that as they queried the “Thuto“ hitmaker on how he has been able to achieve so much success considering the perception he holds against South Africans.
Noticing fans weren’t going to back down from the attacks, Cassper Nyovest returned to Twitter to clarify his post and intention. He suggested his position only meant a general observation rather than the support he has enjoyed.
“I’m not talking about people supporting me. Im talking about South Africans supporting South Africans. We are not the best at that, are we? Are you saying that because people support me I should just be happy and not speak about the lack of support others have?” he asked.
