Afrotainment Boss, DJ Tira has come to the defense of Babes Wodumo over the USB stunt she pulled prior to the release of her smash hit single, “GandaGanda.” The prolific disc jockey believes the trick worked considering the success of the song and all the attention it has been getting.
It will be recalled that Babes Wodumo whose real name is Bongekile Simelane became the buzz and trend last week once she revealed her USB, which had the song was lost. She even became the butt joke of trolls across social media after she asked for help with a link to delete the song as it was already being played at the Durban taxi rank.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE however, DJ Tira whose real name is Mthokozisi Khathi believes that attempt to be a brilliant marketing move and strategy that paid off.
“It worked wonders for her. The game at the moment is all about getting people to notice you. What was most important was for people to know that she was releasing a song and have people listen to it. If people are talking about you, you’re doing something right,” Tira explained.
In fact, the “Malume“ hitmaker believes the backlash the “Wololo“ star recieved from fans and industry watchers doesn’t matter since she seems to be soaring off all of the negative press she has had to deal with.
“It doesn’t matter. It is working for her and if it continues working for her than it doesn’t matter what people say. People will always talk but she is doing very well at the moment and doesn’t care,” DJ Tira concluded.
