Ciara is an African-American singer, songwriter, producer and actress whose name resonates worldwide as a musical force.
First she had taken to Instagram to tell her millions of fans that she had been meaning to tell them of her collaboration with Nigeria’s “Jogodo” crooner Tekno, for her latest single, “Freak Me.”
Then it was the turn of the world, to gasp in delight at the bars of good vibes unleashed by the song.
Well, the video is right here, and it promises to rival her previous music video “Level Up,” and even steal the noise of her #LevelUpChallenge
The video was shot in Soweto during her recent vacation in the town with hubby, Russell Smith.
On the list of dancers for the video were Lisa Jossie, Zoyi Lindiwe Muendane, Anuq Wilson, Nia, and Prudence Findoh.
She took to her Instagram page to share the good news. She wrote: “#FreakMe ft @TeknoOfficial out NOW! Thank you to the beautiful people of #Soweto for an incredible time and experience! Choreography by @just_sino_ Dancers: @lisastaci @lindibuck @anuqlearbomb @_nasteeze_ @p_findoh Styled by @rich_mnisi x @trevor_stuurman Styling assistant @nthabisengmolebeleli Production @mysoulistic Edited by @west2eastempire.”
She made another post, of herself dancing in the streets of Soweto, with the following words: “Good times dancing to my song #FreakMe ft @TeknoOfficial in the streets of #Soweto on the block where Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu used to live! Download and Stream now! Link in Bio.”
Rich Mnisi and Trevor Stuurman did an excellent job with the styling, ably assisted by Nthabiseng Molebeleli.
For the production, Ciara adopted the service of the Instagram user @mysoulistic, while West2East Empire (@west2eastempire) handled the editing.
In all, it was a brilliant video, and worth watching. Already, in just 2 days, it has earned over 1.6 million views on Instagram.
