“Tito Mboweni” hitmaker Cassper Nyovest has got a winning streak and this streak is bound to follow him into December and probably the New Year. The muso’s previous three albums have all gone platinum, and he is determined to repeat the wins as he releases yet another album.
Mufasa, who went crazy over Jill Scott’s “blow job” performance just days ago, is set to release his fifth studio album. The date for the release coincides with his Fill Up Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban – December 1.
He announced that he would be giving every attendee a free copy of the album. And if he should fill up the stadium on the first day, the album would go platinum instantly. “My album is dropping on the first of December, it’s dropping at Mabhida. Everybody who’s coming to the stadium is going to get a copy, so if we sell out the stadium we’re platinum first day,” he said in a recent interview.
A brilliant strategy Mufasa has got there and he just might hit the platinum milestone on December 1. He has, after all, got splendid record of filling up stadia.
He also has a record of artistes leaving his record label (Family Tree) to start their one. Gemini Major was one artiste who had left – to start Rudebuoy Major.
It seems Tshego is well on his way out, as Mufasa also revealed in the interview: “I’m very glad I signed Nadia and I’m very glad I worked with Gemini and Tshego. Gemini went his own way and Tshego is now starting to build his own label as well.”
The artistes may be leaving but Mufasa is sticking around and is set to sign a deal with an international record label that will him, his brand and artistes to the next level. At the moment, Cassper Nyovest is looking forward to premiering a new single with the Maskandi vibe tomorrow Friday 16 November.
