Cassper Nyovest reacts to claims DJ Sbu is profiting off ProKid’s album on iTunes

The unfortunate passing of SA veteran, ProKid, has opened a lot of wounds. The latest is coming to the defense of over claims the latter is profiting off ’s albums on iTunes.

ProKid, 37, recently suffered a severe seizure and collapsed while visiting friends. Attempts to revive him failed and he was confirmed dead soon after.

Many fans have blasted industry players for letting Linda Mkhize down and former affiliate, in particular, has come under severe criticism.

In fact, the superstar disc jockey and entrepreneur has had to come out to defend himself; saying they parted ways after their success at TS records.

“I had the opportunity to work with Linda Mkhize for a few years, he was signed to our label, TS records we made music together, we travelled together.

“I saw him help his friends, they became business people selling his merchandise. He entertained people and got a lot of people out of poverty by helping them work with him, selling his Dankie San’ brand…what I also loved about was his subject matter. His music was very encouraging.” stated.

However, several others have been drawing concerns with ProKid’s albums appearing on iTunes since he passed and some have pointed fingers at DJ Sbu for profiting off the “Soweto” rapper’s loss.

A Twitter user, Lesilo Rula with the username @kay_mahapa recently took the accusation to new heights with a post that caught the attention of .

“DJ Sbu uploading Kod’s albums now on iTunes to capitalize on the sympathy is a prime example of “Lefu la gao la miphidisa” the Tweep Tweeted.

Mufasa would have none of it though and instead he came to the defense of DJ Sbu; saying the fans asked for those albums on iTunes in order to preserve the legacy of ProKid as well as support his family.

“We as the fans begged him to though. I don’t think sbu is capitalizing on anything. We can now enjoy his music all over the world. Come on mAnyora.” Cassper Nyovest responded.
