Cassper Nyovest has not been included in any of the nomination category for the 2017 SAMA’s (South African Music Awards 2017) even though the artiste has made a huge impact in South African music industry.
From filling up the Orlando Stadium with 40,000 people which has never be done my any music artiste in South African entertainment history and dropping some of the hottest Hip-hop song, including collaborations that went on to top South African Hip-hop chart.
The 26-year-old hip-hop artiste has been able to achieve a legendary status with his moves within the short span of time he has been in the industry. The New-school Doc Shebeleza crooner has paved ways and break boundaries for the up and coming talents within the 4 years he has been in the industry.
Even though some consider his rap skills ”wack” which is normal in a music industry full of competitions, hates and outstanding performances, the young chap sure knows his business and has the drive to make things happen with his art.
This year’s nominations for the South African Music Awards, 2017 were publicized and Nyovest did appear on the list. Last year Cassper said, “I don’t want to win a SAMA anymore. I’m good without them.”
The refused to put in for the award ceremony but we feel as that regardless of the feud between Cassper Nyovest and the organizers, the SAMA’s should have recognized the rapper’s influence with an honorary award this year! But how do you award someone who is not interested in being awarded.
There is already an ongoing mixed reviews about the situation. What do you think? Does not nominating Cassper jeopardize the SAMA’s credibility?
