Just when the topic of violence against women in South Africa became big news, local singer, Busiswa Qgulu and her friend, Themba Kubheka a.k.a Marc (the rapper) were allegedly violently attacked by her ex. The attacker said to be DJ Kaygee allegedly left Marc with bruises and his car’s windows destroyed.
After the alleged attack, Marc took to social media to share a video of the aftermath showing his bruises and the smashed windows. According to him, the DJ, Katlego “Kaygee” Mlangeni arrived Busiswa‘s apartment while he was there and attacked the both of them.
In a series of tweets, Marc details the attack, asking for help with the situation and saying he doesn’t trust the justice system in the country. According to him, security took him to a secure location where the DJ wouldn’t know but Busiswa, was left behind at her apartment, scared that her ex would come back.
Marc also shared that the cops had been informed, and that they arrived Busiswa’s apartment and took statements. He also expressed his fear of nothing being done about the matter. According to him, Busiswa‘s ex has threatened to release sensitive information about her if she decides to go forward with the matter.

The Citizen reports that DJ Kaygee explained his side of the story in a since deleted post on Facebook. He claims he never attacked Busiswa and Marc but caught them having sex. He wrote;
“I go in the house and it was unlocked and seems like they decided to do a quickie. So, I entered the bedroom and I caught them having sex on the same bed I sleep on every day.”
Marc has denied sleeping with Busiswa, and also said Busiswa and DJ Kaygee were not in a relationship. He has since reported the matter at the Midrand police station but Kaygee has yet to be arrested.
