Burna Boy Wins First Grammy For His ‘Twice As Tall’ Album




has successfully set the record straight as the African giant with his recent win at the 63rd Grammy Awards, winning the Best Global Music Album category with the “Twice As Tall” album.

Others in the same category include; Brooklyn-based afrobeat band, Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, the Brazilian-American singer, the British Indian performer, Anoushka Shankar and Tinariwen, the Malian group.

In his acceptance speech, he excitedly mentioned; “To every African out there, no matter where you are, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it, no matter where you’re from because you are a king,” 

He added; “Look at me now! Grammy Award-winning Burna Boy. Thank you to everyone!!” From BET to MTV, Burna has been the recipient of several awards, and last year, he also clinched the prize as the Best International Act.

The album is the fifth in the legend’s collection, but it has earned him his global status, placing African music on the international map as well.
