Kwaito Star, Sipho Ndlovu more famously known by his stage name Brickz, has been found guilty of rape in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court by Magistrate John Baloyi. Brickz was found guilty of raping a 17-year-old relative in November 2013.
In what has been a lengthy trial for the music artist, judgement has now finally been served after Baloyi convicted Brickz due to his inability of proving his own innocence.
Now, the R50, 000 bail he was granted a month after his initial arrest has now been revoked. This means Brickz will remain in jail until he is sentenced on July 20.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku said, “Mr Ndlovu was convicted of rape. After the conviction, the R50,000 bail that he was released on was revoked, hence he is in custody.”
This conviction is the latest for the embattled star who has had other run-ins with scandal and the law. 2 years ago, he was accused of theft at a Durban petrol station. He also also has a 2007 drug conviction to his name.
Unfortunately for the “Sweety My Baby” star, it looks like this latest crime will put him away for a long time as his rape offence carries a minimum 15-year prison sentence.
