South African artists, Babes Wodumo, Sjava, Yugen Blakrok and Saudi, have all made the cut on the recent album announced by Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment. The project is inspired by the Black Panther movie and contains some of the film’s soundtrack as well.
Following the formal screening of the Ryan Coogler-directed Black Panther film on Wednesday night, the American rapper and producer, announced “Black Panther The Album” as well as its tracklist.
It features such an array global stars including Kendrick Lamar himself, SZA, Jorja Smith, Vince Staples, Future, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and several others.
However, with the strides South African artists and music continues to make on the global stage, the album inspired by the Marvel Studio’s flick also features some of SA’s very own in Babes Wodumo, Sjava, Yugen Blakrok and Saudi.
