He is one of the South African musicians who dropped out of school to pursue their music dreams and also take care of their families. Many years later, “I Wish You Were Here” crooner Black Coffee has no regrets having left school. But he is considering going back to school.
Black Coffee, who has already clinched two international gigs this year, is inspired to return back to school thanks to the academic exploits of his first born son, who is getting ready for university. He made that known in a recent Instagram post, adding that he is not sure how he would mange schooling with touring.
His post reads: “Dropped out of School to take care of myself then my Family, seeing my 1st born son finishing high school, getting ready for University and everything else he has achieved as a young man has filled my heart with so much joy and gratitude now I can go back studying this year….not sure how I’ll manage with the touring ahead but I’ll give it my best shot. Here’s to filling my cup☕️. #grateful #blessed #Godsveryown”
Black Coffee, who had joined Themba to release “HMWL Radio Mix – 11 January 2019” days ago, is just one of several South Africans who would not let their music dreams wait. Another is Kwesta. And yet another is the “Tito Mboweni” hitmaker Cassper Nyovest.
