Amidst ongoing political violence and turmoil currently ravaging neighbouring Zimbabwe, SA Hip Hop royal, AKA is speaking out.
The SupaMega whose real name is Kiernan Jarryd Forbes is never one to shy away from controversy but most importantly, he keeps political and social issues closer to heart.
In his latest entry on Twitter, AKA queried the African support for the Black Lives Matter movement in far away United States of America while shying away from the loss of lives in their own backyard.
The BLM movement is one advocating for non-violent civil disobedience in protest against incidents of police brutality and racially motivated violence against African Americans.
The “Touch My Blood” rapper took to the social media platform with some less than savoury terms even as he indicates the fact that he is standing with the people of Zimbabwe.
“Imagine your fellow Africans too busy focused on #BLM happening 15 000 kms away to care about those very same black lives NEXT DOOR. Black is King my ass. Stay Strong ZIMBABWE …” AKA Tweeted.
His post has now ignited a world of debate across the streets of Twitter with over 15k likes and 5k Retweets and Comments.
While some supported SupaMega, others simply are of the opinion that Zimbabweans themselves should be the ones to effect change in their country.
