Chukwunonso Kelvin Udeh popularly known as SKOOL BOI is out with a deeply-inspirational production titled ‘Gbemi’.
He’s not gone this one alone, he’s featured an act who’s arguably the breakout artist of 2016 so far in the person of Davido Worldwide Music (DWM) record-smashing wiz, Mayorkun.
‘Gbemi’ which simply translates into ‘lift me’ from the culturally rich Yoruba language features entirely as a spiritual jam, supplicating for all of the beautiful things of life.
Like everybody else, SKOOL BOI wants a wife, a house, a car, etc. and he’s totally poured out his heart on this effort. With a tidy vocal offering and musical structure, this act might definitely be one to watch out for.
However, most people might already anticipate Mayorkun’s verse, but we’d say it was ordinary at best. We wouldn’t compare this effort with his performance on his breakthrough single, ‘Eleko’, which made so much waves, controversies, bank and records.
We might not have all of the glittering words of review, but by all account, ‘Gbemi’ is a decent joint and both Skool Boi and Mayorkun delivered decent efforts.
However, one person who didn’t deliver just a decent effort is the producer, JayPaul Beatz as true to his name, the beats and sound on this single rocks totally off the hook.
“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven…” Therefore, we are not all about to go all judge and jury on this one – we’ll also let you join the conversation on Skool Boi and Mayorkun’s latest collaboration.
