It’s so unfortunate that a lot of artistes on the Nigerian music scene cite Baba 70, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, as their biggest influence and mentor. However, what they churn out the entire time is skiborobo and roborobo.
We’ve asserted so many times the fact that musical advocacy has become a thing only for a few select legends and we are overjoyed that the talented recording artist, RuffCoin has decided to tow this path on a heart-wrenching Afro-Beat vibe he’s titled ‘It’s OK’.
On ‘It’s OK’, the V12 Music act goes for the broke, channeling positive energy on the ills bedeviling the Nigerian nation, the holes of the change mantra and the economic challenges.
RuffCoin preaches deep and wide on salient issues many other artists would deem a taboo. However, the great Martin Luther King, Jnr once said “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends”. RuffCoin has chosen to identify with the masses in this instance!
‘It’s OK’ was produced by DBigSwish and mixed by KC-MIX and they both help with the proper delivery of RuffCoin‘s message. They both deserve due accolades.
The truth is bitter but must be told nonetheless. RuffCoin’s motivation is what easily resonates with the average Nigerian at this time and it is one which is definitely going to become a national anthem soon. Even Fela must be proud!
