Oskido – 50 Degrees Album

South Africa’s legendary / club and radio DJ and Producer, finally unleashes his latest studio titled “50 Degrees.” This project of musical art is a fitting follow up to other projects of the General after previous efforts such as “The First Commandment,” and “I Believe.”

whose real name is Oscar Bonginkosi Mdlongwa was born in Oukasie township, near Brits, South Africa in 1967. His father was a politician from Zimbabwe in what was known as Rhodesia at the time, where schooled until he eventually returned to South Africa in 1987.

After sneaking around clubs to spin as a passion, he would later team up with fellow producers Don Laka and Christos Katsaitis to establish Kalawa Records. The trio released their eponymous self-entitled “BOP (Brothers Of Peace)” compilation in 1993.

Establishing a network of DJs, musicians, producers and other hopefuls, the label turned into in 1995 after Christos Katsaitis’ departure.

Oskido became one of the first artists to produce songs – a genre of music which was originally created in South Africa during the 1990s. It has been described as the music that defines the generation who came of age after apartheid.

He has brought joy to households and groove to dance floors with such efforts as his recently dropped Skaba Forgiva,” which featured DJ Steve and Michael Matebe, AmaGrootmaan,” “Tsa Ma Ndebele,” “Woza Nana,” Tula Sizwe,” “Mama Wami,” “Dlozi, “Phezu Kwayo,” and many others too numerous to mention.

The “50 Degrees” is set to become the continuation of that roll. The 12-track project of musical art features a roll-cast of heavyweights in the game including Professor, Bucie, Nowkwuazi, Buckz, Zing Master, Peincil, Bhizer, Mque, Zulu Naja, Dr Moruti, McKenzie, Boom Boom Bass, Ipeleng, Candy, and Western Boyz.
