For those who grew up in Nigeria with wooden spoons, more famously refereed to as the ‘Ajepakos’, this latest jam would bring back a flash of beautiful memories. YBNL Boss, Olamide Baddo drops a scintillating new joint he’s titled “Sere (Ghetto Story)”.
He didn’t go on this joint alone; he’s featured his protegee and YAGI Boss, Lil Kesh. Only the silver-spooned kids wouldn’t remember the game “Sere”. This was the game of choice in those beautiful days of the yesteryear and might well be compared to the Pokemon Go of today’s world.
This is just one reason to love Olamide even more for his craft and artistry. He’s taken us back on a trip to childhood and those fascinating memories only those who experienced it would be able to relate to. He’s gotten the backing of “Shoki” master, Kesh, who only helped make those memories even fonder.
The joint describes the story of story of “Sere” and all of the troubles Olamide and Kesh got into while growing up. However, isn’t that the story of most of us? This gig is a combination of wit, humour and a history lesson.
Remember Hulk Hogan? Andrew The Warrior? Sandal shoes? Milk tins? ‘ Omi garri is a water, eja dindin is a fish’? This is just pure bliss, folks!
However, “Sere” is rounded off on a serious note on how Baddoo made a success out of all of these and eventually became a success. Isn’t this a story most of us would easily relate with? Diamond in the dirt!
“Sere (Ghetto Story)” is a fantastic jam and with the emotional undertone, it is already primed to rule the airwaves like the rest of Olamide’s joints. We just can’t wait for the music video of this Major Bangs because we know it is going to totally rock.
Why not stream, download and bang to this latest Olamide and Lil Kesh efforts. Importantly, do share your own childhood memories in the comment section below.
