If we assert that Fresh 2 Def (F2D)‘s “Hall of Fame” surprise album is the current cake off the South African hip hop circuit, then we wouldn’t be far from the truth. This album is a project by North god, Da L.E.S‘ label, F2D, together with the newly formed Rudebuoy Major and Young Legend Music.
Once it dropped, we have been feeling some off the masterclass efforts off that project including “Glory”, “Dungeons”, “Baddest On The Planet” and many more. However, it is the heavyweight line-up on the “Hall Of Fame” album that is mind-blowing.
However, that’s not all. The “Hall Of Fame” album also enjoyed such notable appearances including Efelow, Stunt Double L-Tido, Moozlie, Maggz, and G Baby Silva. The vibe and sensation simply screams of a combination of musical talents all with one goal in mind – to set the circuit on fire.
We had earlier predicted 2017 to be one of alliances on the South African hip hop scene and we are proving to be prophets in that regard. We just never saw this one coming and the boys seem to be enjoying every bit of their music right now.
In summary, the “Hall Of Fame” album is simply a combination of different niches on the circuit. This is as Da L.E.S delivers his distinctive lyrical lines, while Yanga brings that local vernac-flavour we have all come to love and adore the Chief for. Gemini major completes the rout with that ragga and Caribbean flavor to make this effort a smash.
We can go on and on but we are simply at a loss for words. This is why we ask you to cup this effort to form your own opinion. However, remember to share those thoughts in the comments section below.
