DJ Lyfe drops his debut single titled “Way Up,” and it is every inch laced with fire and flames. On his bow, he scores an impressive line-up of some of the game’s finest in Ginger Trill, Blaklez and Muzee.
“Way Up” samples Chicco Thwala‘s classic hit “Need Some Money,” plus elements of Kwaito ingrained in its offering. DJ Lyfe can now look towards even more releases on his path towards the upper echelons of the circuit.
Especially given the roll and form of the serial hit masterminds lacing the bars of this effort. Ginger Trill is still buzzing across social discourse with his latest offering , “The Plug,” which featured Zoocci Coke Dope. He brings those stunning lyrical lines to bare on “Way Up” as well.
Blaklez recently dropped the music video for “Cool Slaves,” while his “Baby Brother” album is in the works. You just know the Rap Steve Biko is unable to get it wrong and it is nice to see him let his guards down a bit when he is not being a social revolutionary and crusader.
Muzee completed the rout on “Way Up;” slicing the hook like he’s worked in some musical butchery. You’ve got to give it up to the fellas for such a stand-up performance and DJ Lyfe can be thoroughly proud.
