What a year it has been for Gqom Queen, Babes Wodumo. However, she is set to change all that with the massive commission of her latest single titled “GandaGanda”. The banger features usual collaborators Mampintsha and Madanon.
Well, you can already get your dance shoes and hats ready as Babes returns to the circuit with a bout of fierce and flames.
It has been one helluva year for the “Wololo“ hitmaker. She’s been the attraction of trolls across social media for more times than one. It started with the meltdown of West Ink boss and beau, Mampintsha, after Babes Wodumo failed to win an award at the South African Music Awards (SAMA 23).
Then, she failed to attend the BET Awards a month after in June. She had been nominated for the Best International Act: Africa alongside AKA and Nasty C but was unable to attend due to her inability to apply for the visa on time. At the time, she was also the butt of mean jokes across social media as well.
We do not even want to get into the story of the change of PR outfits but Babes Wodumo has always remained solid on the musical side of things. We are certain “GandaGanda” is about to change her fortunes as she storms the musical world with aplomb.
Babes whose real name is Bongekile Simelane is finally moving away from the success of her debut album, “Gqom Queen (Vol.1),” which hosted such smash songs as “Amatsegetsege,” “Family,” and the wave-making “Wololo.”
We can already anticipate the entire nation getting into a dance craze that only Babes Wodumo is capable of with GandaGanda. With the structured groove of fire and brimstone, the dance floors and social gigs can expect a dent. We can now begin to look forward to a music video that officially launches some sick and slick dance moves.
“GandaGanda” is lit and as you move and grind, remember also to be grateful as none of this would have been possible should her USB had remain missing. Another drama? We’ll just stick with the sensation of this smoking banger instead.
