Blessed with such golden vocals and the superb delivery to match, Ami Faku has simply dazzled the world of Afro Soul.
In fact, she has enchanted our hearts and souls with such massive tunes as “Inde Lendlela,” “Love Drunk,” “Ubuhle Bakho,” “Ndikethe Wena,” “Lose You” of The Kiffness, as well as Sun-El Musician’s “Into Ingawe” just to mention a few.
Only thing is the fact that music fans and lovers have yearned tirelessly for her debut album and she gave us a dose of what to expect recently when she launched “Mbize” alongside 37MPH to ease those yearnings.
Now that we have the “Imali Album,” it is all we thought it would be and even more. Reason why we might be blown away, but we are not in the least surprised.
Especially since Ami Faku’s journey to the upper echelons of the industry hasn’t happened by a stroke of luck; she has eagerly made her talent a fusion of the work ethics that she espouses.Ami Faku
Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, the singer started making a name for herself when she auditioned for “The Voice South Africa” and was picked by Lira in 2017.
Although her time on the show was short-lived, she caught the attention of the show’s music director, who later connected her to record label boss, Raphael Benza.
The rest as they say is history and her unique storytelling abilities looks to have helped her become a standout on these competitive streets.
The “Imali Album” is nothing but a musical gem as Ami Faku again makes sounds and melody of relatable chapters in a way that just connects with the depths of the mind, heart and soul.
