Yanga Chief teaches the art of achieving pop stardom with his highly anticipated project “Becoming A Pop Star (BAPS)”. An effort that shows Mzansi how much of a star he is.
A lot of artistes make music but aren’t really considered superstars or celebrities even. The focus on just the music sometimes isn’t enough to sell an artiste’s personality which also aids record sales.
Coincidentally, the EP also features contributions from a number of South Africa stars including Supa Mega himself, AKA, Boity, Makwa, Dea Koala and Riky Rick.
Before he achieved fame as a hip hop star, the rapper was an accomplished record producer. He made his way up the ladder as a featured act on songs by other artistes.
On the new album, fans get to see him more as an artiste in his own might as there are more solo singles on the record than features.
He previously made waves with the song “Utatakho” which dropped in 2018. Recently he dropped a joint tagged “200” which was released days ago in anticipation of the new effort. The number opened a page into the new record showing snippets of what to expect from it.
The EP contains a total 9 songs including 3 features and 6 solo tracks.
- Lovey (feat. Makwa)
- Hard (feat. AKA)
- Utatakho (Remix) [feat. Boity, Sea Koala & Riky Rick].
