Singer, Trina‘s new album titled “The One” is finally out after teasing snippets from it and releasing preview songs and collabs. “The One” has been a long time in the works. According to the rapper herself, it has taken over 6 years to assemble but good luck to fans as it is finally here and packs a lot of punches.
While some fans will see the time taken as footdragging, others will agree that creative efforts and process differ and see this as for the best. She is not one to put out a new song for the sake of it and fans should get a feel of that on the project.
The project has songs like “Get Money”, “On His Face”, “New Thang”, “Situation”, “BAPS”, “Feed Me Lies”, “For You” and more and sees her team up with Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Rico Love, Dave East and more and she did well here.
The “BAPS” song with Nicki Minaj had already been released though and was a banger. The song with Lil Wayne who by the way used to be her lover too was a hit with the two showing a musical chemistry on the song. This project was not overhyped. The already previewed songs say that much.
Trina herself in an interview admitted to have taken her time and now that the project is out, can’t be bothered by criticisms. “I have have done so much and [much has] transpired, just like evolved. From five different albums and so much stuff that I’ve been through and I’ve put into all those albums, I get to the sixth album and this is like, I’ve given the last six years of my life to this project. That’s a really long time, especially when I had hopes that it would come out three years ago. I kept recording. I kept adding new stuff, new songs, and it just kept growing and growing. Now, it’s about to be summer. I’m dropping my album this year. I don’t care what happens.”
