The list of collaborators for Taylor Swift’s new album “Lover“, which was released on Thursday night, has been revealed by Apple Music and iTunes, and it included Annie Clark, popularly known as St Vincent.
St Vincent worked with Swift on the track ‘Cruel Summer’, making it the first time the duo, who have been friends for many years collaborated. Produced by Jack Antonoff with the help of Bleachers Frontman, ‘Cruel Summer’ is the second song on the new album.
Swift, earlier shared four singles from the new album, including ‘ME!’, her collaboration with Panic! at The Disco’s Brendon Urie, ‘You Need to Calm Down’, ‘The Archer and ‘Lover‘. The first single, ‘ME!’ made it to No. 3 on the UK Top 10 charts and ‘You Need to Calm Down’ peaked at No. 5.
Aside from her two ‘Lover‘ tracks scaling the UK Top 10 charts, Swift is also scheduled to be the opening performer for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on 26 August.
Apart from collaborating with Swift on ‘Cruel Summer’, St Vincent also recently released a Sleater-Kinney’s new album ‘The Center Won’t Hold‘, which was debuted at No.10 on the Billboard 200 in addition to peaking at No.6 in the U.K. She dropped MASSEDUCTION in 2017, and then followed it last year with the reworked MassEducation.
Swift, however, revealed in a recent interview, that she plans to re-record her old songs, having lost the rights to many of her back catalogues.
