T-Pain‘s new song, Girlfriend features American rapper, G-Eazy.
T-Pain’s new song is a perfect example of the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. A while ago, rumors flew all over the internet that T-Pain, real name Faheem Rasheed Najm and his wife Amber Najm (since 2003) like to have an ‘open’ relationship. Now, the singer is recreating those rumors into a song in a way that sees him almost openly saying these rumors are true.
T-Pain features G-Eazy on the song which is produced by A1 Bentley, an American producer on the reality TV show, Love & Hip Hop Hollywood. A1 is known for his signature sound which is evident in T-Pain‘s Girlfriend. He has also produced songs for many big American artists including Chris Brown, Omarion, Jeremih and Gucci Mane.
Girlfriend is an energetic beat heavy hip hop song still in the style of what T-Pain has come to be known for. The song features rapper, G-Eazy who stuns on his verse in the track. G-Eazy shows how much of a star he is in the track, proving his worth after his latest album was generally underappreciated.
On the song, T-Pain gives life to polyamory, with the line, “Me and my girl need a girl friend, and or might be you“. This is basically him refueling the rumors surrounding his marriage with wife, Amber. T-Pain as usual has fun with the song’s lyrics and hook, singing about being in holy matrimony with two women, obviously for the sake of pleasure.
Girlfriend isn’t the first time both Eazy and Pain are jumping on a song together but it marks their first collaboration with just each other.
