To do wrong is one thing. To acknowledge you did wrong, and even apologise, is another. And there is so much beauty in an apology that it can turn lions into lambs. Everyone is mollified and life and amity goes on beautifully again.
American rapper kanye West knows this. And he has just shown a beautifully side of him by apologising to Canadian rapper and friend Drake, whose songs release date he inadvertently hijacked.
Kanye West took to Twitter to apologise, and began thus: “Sending good energy and love to Drake and family and crew???
I haven’t seen the show in person but the images look incredible online
I understand where the confusion started”
Also, Kanye West weighed in on the Pusha T and Drake conflict, saying that he would never have been involved in any negative projections at drake.
The apology took several tweets, and ended with Kanye West saying he would be coming to Drake’s show within the next seven days, to show love and be inspired by Drakes art.
This apology is coming barely days after Kanye West apologized for his remarks on slavery.
But unlike the slavery apology which many were not quite satisfied with, his apology to Drake, was greeted with unprecedented goodwill and applause on social media, causing Kanye West to begin to trend on Twitter.
The reactions where not wholly in Kanye West’s favour. It was in fact a mixed bag. See some reactions below:
