Latest Nigerian Music Video From Top Artists This Year So Far

The evolution and growth of the Nigerian music industry into Africa’s largest and finest is well documented. However, one sector of the industry is often overlooked as an unsung hero – Nigerian music videos!

The revolution in the Nigerian music industry began in the mid to late 90s with such classic and evergreen songs that changed the landscape of the universal language. Contributions of such veterans brought a new wave of youthful awareness and participation to the world of entertainment; albeit even more critically than folks from the days of old.

At the time, we got swayed and mesmerized by the likes of Daddy Shokey’s “Dyna,” Mad Melon and Mountain Black’s “Danfo Driver,” Africa China’s “Crises,” Paul Play Dairo’s “Angel Of My Life,” “Shako Mo” of Remedies, as well as “One & Only” of Plantashun Boiz just to mention a few.

While these songs hit the heights so unprecedented; they also had something in common and that is the accompanying music videos that became a trend at the time. If it was not celebrating the latest dance steps such as “Galala,” it was about the promotion of a fashion style which would eventually become a part and parcel of the urban code.

It has been long ways since then and Nigerian music videos have continued to push that dominance; spreading our beautiful brand of music on the African continent and the world at large. In fact, Davido’s “Fall,” Yemi Alade’s “Johnny,” and Tekno’s “Pana,” have all now surpassed the iconic 100 million views on YouTube.

This further lends credence to the fact that the battle of the visuals, the connection of the dots as well as the motion pictures that tells their own stories have been equally important as the musical deliveries as well. This is why we pay tribute to the artists, the video vixens, the dancers, creative Nigerian music video directors and everyone in the business of serving these crispy-fresh and squeaky-clean flicks.

We celebrate the likes of Clarence Peters, Sesan Ogunro, Adasa Cookie, Daps, Unlimited SA, Moe Musa, Kemi Adetiba, Aje Filmworks and several others who have birthed this top videos and latest videos.
