American singer and record producer Benny Blanco and Chicago rapper Juice WLRD have just hit the street with a new song titled ‘Graduation’.
The new song reflects on the life of high school. It borrows melody and lyrics from the iconic high-school anthem.
“Um, information leaker, had a crush on one of my teachers
Used to fantasize makin’ love with her behind the bleachers
And to all the people who ain’t like me, I ain’t like me either
Half my class was havin’ kids, guess we had that jungle fever
Uh, I was waitin’ for my graduation (Uh-huh), growin’ impatient (Uh-huh)
What I didn’t know was this grown-up world (This grown-up world)
Was just school in a blown-up world (This blown-up world)
There’s still gossip, there’s still drama, there’s still problems”, – the song lyrics quoted in part.”
This is not the first time Juice WLRD and Benny Blanco have worked together. The duo collaborated with singer Brendon Urie last December for ‘Roses‘, a song from Blanco‘s debut album ‘Friends Keep Secrets‘.
Meanwhile, Blanco has released other hit songs this year. In January he released “I Found You / Nilda’s Story” with Calvin Harris and Miguel. The song debuted with a video highlighting the story of one Honduran woman, Nilda, and her two-year-old son Keyden. He also released “I Can’t Get Enough” with Tainy, Selena Gomez, and J Balvin in February.
Juice WRLD, on the other hand, released his second album ‘Death Race for Love‘ in March. The album, which featured guest appearances from Brent Faiyaz, Clever, and Young Thug, recently made it to No. 1 on the US Billboard 200.
