Visiting exotic locations is not the only adventure in the books after all. There’s the adventure of the stomach – visiting other countries specifically to taste the people’s delicacies. This, exactly, is the adventure the British singer and composer Ed Sheeran is contemplating right now.
Ed Sheeran plans to come to Nigeria specifically to enjoy the country’s jollof rice, having heard the country’s jollof rice is good. He made this revelation, The Sun reports, at the Nordoff Robbins Awards in London.
Ed Sheeran‘s coming to Nigeria should further spike the prestige of Nigerian jollof rice, which has been in fierce competition with the jollof rice of other countries, especially Ghana.
If, after his visit, he should make a favourable statement about Nigerian jollof rice, then he would have paved the way for other global celebs to make the “stomach pilgrimage” to Nigeria to taste this Nigerian delicacy and have their hungers whipped.
Ed Sheeran may have crooned, alongside Stormzy, “Take Me Back to London,” but really the MBE will be heading to Africa, to Nigeria, after his Divide World Tour in August. That’s next month, and it isn’t far.
By the way, Ed Sheeran recently confirmed he’s married to long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, eviscerating speculations the two were not yet married.
Dear Nigerian cooks, y’all know Ed Sheeran will be coming to Nigeria. Now get the chicken ready. We gotta make him lick his fingers and belch for the world. It’s a no-brainer.
