Rapper Common saves the day on ‘Hercules‘ featuring Swizz Beatz. Lately we’ve seen black American star, Common play different characters on our TV screens and wondered when he’d make a big return to music. With his latest song release, Common is coming back to his other half, music.
A man of many talents, Common has ruled the screens as both an actor and a rap artist. He is also a voice actor, a philanthropist and a writer. The Chicago born rapper has maintained an underground following since the release of his 1992 debut album Can I Borrow A Dollar.
The Glory rapper has also built a respectable fan base with his music and other career successes over the years. With Grammy wins and an Oscar to his name, the rapper delivers with each body of work he gives.
Hercules is the second single off Common’s soon-to-drop album “Let Love” after “Her Love“. The song features production credits from producer, Swizz Beatz who also sings in the track. Common wittily plays around with words on the song with backing vocals from Swizz Beatz and it’s glory to hear.
A video is also released for the track which shows the rapper save a departmental store from a robbery while simultaneously rapping on his phone. It is directed by Carrick. American rapper, Vince Staples also makes an appearance in the video.
Common‘s new album Let Love is set to drop on August 10 and features 11 tracks including Her Love and Hercules. The rapper embarks on the Let Love tour starting this weekend to support the album.
