New York Femcee, Cardi B literally bare it all with a brand new single which she titles “Press.” The single is already perhaps the biggest trending song of the season. The anticipation surrounding “Press” might have added to the frenzy as she had teased the song as far back as December, 2018.
Only thing is the fact that Cardi B had chosen to follow up the success of her 2017 “Invasion Of Privacy Album” with such efforts as “Money,” “Please Me” alongside Bruno Mars, and her latest hit song titled “Clout” with her husband, Offset. This time and with “Press,” the “Bodak Yellow” mastermind goes for the broke; unleashing her frustrations about those who expect her to assume certain standards and personalities that she isn’t.
In fact, many music fans are still trying to digest the lyrics of the blistering single with some initially suggesting her fury was directed at the media. Especially with the heavily suggestive artwork of the piece which depicts a naked and handcuffed Cardi B being led along a group all male paparazzi and police.
Yet, she makes no mistakes as she rips certain elements to shreds with a world of scorching bars and blistering lines. Cardi B’s fame and popularity continues to grow despite polarizing opinions and views. Isn’t this the reason she is the only woman to have won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album as a solo artist?
She also holds the distinction for seven Billboard Music Awards — the most of any female rapper, as well as nine BET Hip Hop Awards, which is also the most of any female rapper too. Do we even mention the three American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and two Guinness World Records?
“Press” looks to have taken over the streets and game and you definitely cannot pass on its fire and flames. Simply cop a dose, then be sure to share your thoughts and opinion in the comments section below.
