Big Sean’s new music and video literally speaks tons in just 6 minutes.
The most beautiful thing some of America’s biggest names in music have embraced today is honesty. They’ve tasted the healing power of honest music, which according to them heals the heart. We previously brought you an article on the Late Mac Miller‘s opinion in being honest in music and how much of himself he poured into his last album; well, Sean‘s doing the same. We hope this changes everything for him as he bares his soul for the world to relate and connect to.
Big Sean‘s new music and video is touching like an honest arrow to the heart. No, not to kill, but to sensitize. The American rapper who once came clean about dealing with mental health issues and working on himself to be a better man and artist, is announcing his current relationship status. According to him, he’s Single Again, it could be his fault, or not. Who knows? The good news is, he’s single.
The song video which was released yesterday is as honest and eye opening as the conspicuous statue of Liberty. The video stars, Ryan Destiny, Keith Powers and also features his ex, Jhene Aiko and rapper, Ty Dolla $ign.
Speaking about the new video, Sean said;
“The video has a lot of important messages, but the main one is for people to ‘wake up and smell roses’ in a world where we wake up and check our phones instead”.
Director, Lawrence Lamont also added;
“The visual highlights a few social issues, including social media’s ability to sway people’s opinions to the point of disharmony, the social pressures face by Millennials and Generation Y and media coverage of the Black man. While bringing these key issues to light, I also wanted to capture Detroit’s beautiful spirit and style.”
We won’t post any spoilers, so why not watch it for yourself.
