Big Hit Entertainment announces a new drama show based on the lives of BTS Universe.
Big Hit Entertainment in a presentation on August 21st talked about their current status and the direction of their future businesses. Present at the event were the company’s CEOs, Bang Shi Hyuk and Yoon Seok Joon, including beNX President, Seo Woo Seok. The company talked about meeting viewers’ needs through their media contents including; games, web toons, novels, animation, and drama. They also announced plans to tell stories based on the lives of many established artists including BTS.
This brought about a major announcement in which the entertainment company announced plans to begin a new drama series based on the lives of BTS Universe members. According to them, members of the K-pop group will not be starring in the drama series as they would audition actors for the roles. The series will tell the story of how the 7 members of the group met each other for the first time and their journey to fame.
During the announcement, they said;
“We are currently preparing a drama based on the BTS Universe with a famous Korean production studio. The goal is to launch it in the latter half of 2020.”
The media company also hinted that the show would be made in collaboration with Chorokbaem Media. Chorokbaem Media has produced very popular TV dramas including, Memories of the Alhambra. The new drama series is expected to begin airing in the second half of next year. BTS is currently take a breather from performing as announced by a rep. in the beginning of the month. A documentary in the group is expected to hit Weverse on Aug. 27.
